Star Energy Geothermal won the Best Renewable Company at the CNBC Indonesia Award 2021. Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) SEG, Hendra Soetjipto Tan, accepted the award under the category of “The Best Energy and Mining Company” virtually, on Wednesday September 9th 2021.
CNBC awarded Star Energy considering the company as the best example for balanced geothermal management between aspects of environmental preservation, sustainability and profitability. Star Energy also consistently booked positive net profit and stable revenue. As for business development, Star Energy is also considered to have no disputes with local communities or conflicts related to forest conservation.
Mr. Hendra Soetjipto said this award would further spur the company’s performance to work harder and better. “And of course increasing our competence in new and renewable energy in Indonesia,” explained Mr. Hendra when being interviewed by CNBC.
“We have a lot of homework, one of which is maintaining the optimal performance of geothermal power plants. We also want to develop geothermal power plants in other areas in Java and beyond Java. In 2028 we are targeting to reach 1,200 MW,” he added.
