Agreements support project planning, drilling services and evaluation  of future geothermal opportunities

Jakarta, 23 February 2026 —
Global energy technology company SLB (NYSE: SLB) and Star Energy Geothermal, a subsidiary of Barito Renewables (IDX: BREN), today announced the signing of multiple agreements and collaboration frameworks to support geothermal development projects and future technology deployment in Indonesia and overseas.

The collaboration includes a field development design and planning for the Sekincau geothermal development project in Indonesia, as well as collaboration frameworks to identify, evaluate and plan future geothermal opportunities including in North America, and to provide fully integrated drilling services for the Sekincau project development phase.

Star Energy Geothermal is a leading geothermal developer and operator in Indonesia, with deep experience in geothermal resource development and operations. The agreements mark a new phase in the relationship between SLB and Star Energy Geothermal, building on prior technology collaboration and advancing toward project-level planning and execution, where SLB’s technology, technical expertise and execution capabilities are applied to improve performance across the project lifecycle.

“Indonesia has the potential to shape the future of geothermal energy globally, and we see our role as turning that potential into impact,” said Hendra Tan, President Director of PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk and Group CEO of Star Energy Geothermal. “This collaboration marks a decisive step in building Indonesia-rooted expertise that can be scaled internationally. By uniting Star Energy Geothermal’s proven operating capabilities with SLB’s global subsurface and execution strengths, we are positioning geothermal not only as a pillar of Indonesia’s energy transition, but as a globally deployable solution that accelerates emissions reduction, enhances energy resilience, and creates sustainable value across continents.”

Under the agreements and collaboration frameworks, SLB aims to improve development efficiency, reduce subsurface and execution risks, and support the delivery of technically and commercially viable geothermal projects. These capabilities are critical to scaling geothermal as a reliable, firm energy source.
